Title

THE DESIGNER
Texas born designer, Julie Haus-Alkire, began studying pattern construction and sewing at the age of thirteen under her grandmother, a 1950's dressmaker. From a young age she developed a polished sense of style that fused pretty, fanciful fabrications with vintage-inspired details.

Haus began her fashion career professionally while she was at Spoon Magazine, a luxury lifestyle publication she co-founded with husband Jason Alkire. As the editorial director, she styled fashion and home editorial features working with top design houses such as Hermés, Tiffany & Co, Amsale, and Vera Wang. Leading luxury advertisers such as BMW, Barney's NY, and LVMH also supported the magazine.

Before long, Haus became restless, eager to fulfill her childhood aspirations of becoming a professional fashion designer. Haus' goal was to create a ready-to-wear clothing line for women who shared her appreciation for vintage fabrications and intricate tailoring. Haus' designs quickly became known for their immaculate craftwork and impeccable fit.

At the outset, Julie spent the majority of her time traveling to trunk shows and various markets refining the Julie Haus "look." In 2005, partner and husband Jason Alkire came aboard to direct the company. Jason is a former executive in advertising and marketing as well as an accomplished photographer. He now serves as the president while he focuses on the company brand and position - freeing Julie to concentrate on design.

To date, Julie Haus has been successful at teasing the consumer with a taste of the label, which is currently carried in 32 countries in over 350 stores around the world including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Shopbop.com.
